  1. I am curious as to what the context could’ve been as to why she would say such a thing. BLM has been the opposite of “plantation mentality” as they have offered probably the most serious challenge to systematic racism in the 21st century as others have chosen to follow a “colorblind” philosophy that chooses to ignore race and racism entirely.

    • First I want to thank you for your comment. I think that he does make some strong points, but in Ms Brown’s defense the Black Panther Party was clearly a revolutionary organization black lives matter, as mentioned is not that. Although black lives matter has been very present lately they have also been quite reactionary opposed to proactive, and the critical question is what power dynamics have BLM changed. I support the movement but what are the longer term goals is what I often find myself questioning.
